GOOD FRIDAE´S 100 BEST SINGERS OF ALL TIME!

BY: FRIDAE MATTAS
EDITED BY: FRIDAE MATTAS & LULU D.

Since Rolling Stone dropped their list, I decided to make a Goddess list of the top 100 singers, that I personally think are the best. The criterion are as follows; vocal ability, now the only reason some people made the list under this is because of the other categories, track record, cultural impact and talent. By talent I mean, how much of the creative process were they a part of.  Many of the incredible artists on my list, had the pleasure to meet me and some I had the pleasure to meet. Number one is the cover picture, I chose Michael Jackson as number one because he truly was a one of a kind talent, the only of his kind, a gentle soul that the world terrorized. I love Michael Jackson, his first record Thriller, came out the year I came back to this shit whole of a dump, that I have been trying to clean up! I first learned how to do the moon walk at the age of two, taught to me, by my elder cousins. Michael Jackson's music, played a pivitol role in my life as an artist, many of the top ten artists have. I chose artists who are not abusers or pedophiles. Without further a due, the rest of the most incredible singers my ears have heard except a few artists, I personally don't like the tone of their voice but acknowledge their talent and success.

WHITNEY

Whitney was the first female artist that I heard with such a powerful voice and catchy songs. No one else like Whitney! Her career has been award winning and impactful to many.

Mariah Carey doesn't need any introduction, her vocals changed the music game, this chart topper is a living legend still belting hits today.

CELINE DION

Next to Mariah Carey there is no other female artist from the 90's that could slay, like French Canadian Celine Dion. With hit songs like Power of Love, she won the hearts of many world wide.

FREDDIE MERCURY

Freddie is another legend no one, has been able to compare to. The Queen front man wrote and sang the most notable music, more widely known, than the Beatles.

ARETHA FRANKLIN

This was a hard place to give, number seven is the only one who could have taken this spot other than Aretha. She is the irrefutable Queen of soul with hits like Respect, no one has come up with anything remotely close to that song.

ETTA JAMES

Before Aretha, there was Etta, I could hear her soul in her voice when she sang. She always gives me goosebumps when hearing her music. Etta was A favourite in my past life too.

CHRISTINA AGUILERA

Since her debut Genie in a Bottle, Christina was an unstoppable force in the early 2000's. She has had some great success and her vocals are what put her at this spot on my list.

ARIANA GRANDE

For the younger Millennials, Ariana is a combination of Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera. She has made waves since her Disney days. Her vocals alone got her at this spot, as with number 8.

CHESTER

BENNINGTON

This place was harder to determine than number one! Chester's vocals were what changed my views on Nu metal.  His band Linkin Park are early 2000's cultural rock icons. The first band to successfully incorporate Rapping with heavier  yet melodic vocals.
